Hardin Roofing & Exteriors fabricated and installed a Galvanized standing seam roof on a newly added wrap around porch addition in Westminster, Maryland. The project included complex chimney flashing and traditional seaming techniques.
The homeowner is planning to paint the new roof to match the existing one once the panels are exposed to weather for a few months-this will allow time for the oils that where used in the roll forming and fabrication process to wash off, where paint will be able to adhere to its surface. This is how old metal roofs of yesterday were done. Today The modern metal roofs have a factory paint finish in which doesn’t require paint after installation. These homeowners preferred the old technique as they are trying to truly replicate this metal roof as one of the old world.
